It is quite simple to groom a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. Brushing on a regular basis is usually all that is required to keep the coat in tiptop condition. The coat is straight and water repellent. It is a double coat of medium length and softness, with a softer, dense undercoat.<\/p>\n
The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever is allowed a slight wave on the back and has feathering at the throat, behind the ears and at the back of the thighs. The forelegs are moderately feathered.<\/p>\n
Color:<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>shades of red or orange, with lighter feathering under the tail. White marks are desirable in at least one of the followi<\/p>\n
ng places: on the tip of the tail, the feet and chest, or as a blaze.<\/p>\n
Equipment needed: <\/strong><\/em>Bristle brush and a pin brush.<\/p>\n
This breed will enjoy the personal interaction of being groomed, so set aside a couple of times a week to groom and keep it looking smart. Do note that excessive use of a brush will remove or damage the undercoat.<\/p>\n
