The Field Spaniel coat should be as flat as possible.<\/p>\n

• Brush with a bristle brush to remove dead hairs and tangles that may have formed in the feathering, under the arms and particularly around the ears.<\/li>\n
• After brushing, thoroughly comb through with a medium-toothed comb.<\/li>\n
• Using thinning shears or your finger and thumb, remove thick hair on the head to give a neat, clean appearance.<\/li>\n
• Body hair is stripped or thinned where necessary to give a flat look.<\/li>\n
• Bathe the dog in a suitable shampoo and conditioner to help enhance the gleam of the coat.<\/li>\n
• Lightly blow-dry in the direction of the hair growth.<\/li>\n
• Check the Field Spaniel’s nails, ears and teeth.<\/li>\n
• Comb through once more, and remove stray hairs with your finger and thumb. Alternatively, use thinning shears to produce a flat appearance.<\/li>\n
